Valley Health Alliance is a Colorado employer healthcare coalition serving communities from Aspen to Rifle across the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys. The alliance was formed by large regional employers to address rising healthcare costs and limited insurance competition in rural Colorado.
Confluence Brand Strategy has supported Valley Health Alliance since 2018 through strategic communications and coalition messaging designed to help large self-funded employers communicate healthcare reform initiatives to their employees and advance cost-reduction strategies across the region. Our work included press outreach, employer-focused op-eds, internal communications support, crisis messaging during insurance transitions, and marketing strategy for regional outreach.
We also supported communications for new individual insurance options introduced through Colorado’s ACA marketplace, Connect for Health Colorado, helping explain complex healthcare economics to employers and the general public.
Through coordinated communications strategy and public engagement, we helped the Valley Health Alliance communicate complex healthcare reforms to the region, supporting initiatives that lowered healthcare costs for six member organizations, increased primary care attribution from roughly 60% to nearly 70%, and expanded insurance competition across the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys.
